Accessibility User Information

This website has recently been rebuilt and accessibility features have been added. We hope this information will help:
Please note: we cannot guarantee matching accessibility features for the e-cards as this program is provided by an outside source (and we are very glad to have them!). However, we are working on integrating their functioning with the rest of the website. If you have any suggestions for improving the accessibility of any part of this website, please let us know as we would be glad to hear from you.
  1. Resizable text and text alternatives for images
All images now have an alternative text replacement, and text on the screen can be resized using the text resizing options in your browser. If you use a mouse with a wheel, this can also be done by holding down the CTRL key and moving the mouse wheel.

  2. Image optimisation
All images on this website have been optimised for faster downloads and screen viewing. Some larger images can be viewed as enlargements, and viewing size can be adjusted using buttons if javascript is enabled. If javascript is not enabled, these images can also be resized using the text resizing options in your browser. As the artwork on this website is copyright, please contact the Studios regarding licensing or high quality copies of any of the website images for printing. Please also see our copyright statement.

  3. Foreign language translations
Fonts, character sets and language specifications have been set up to allow for foreign language translations. We have also inserted language codes for screenreaders wherever a phrase appears in a foreign language (eg we have some links and quotations in Spanish and French), but do let us know if you find one we've missed!

  4. Printer-friendly version
To economise on our visitors' ink and paper, pages from this website will print in a more narrow version without the logo and menu options. If you wish to print the whole screen as it appears, we recommend using the Print Screen key on your keyboard and pasting the image into a word processing document or graphics file.

  5. Tab and Enter Keys
All links and interactive features on these pages may be navigated using the Tab and Enter keys as an alternative to the mouse.

  6. Access Keys
In general, key 2 takes you to page content, Key 1 takes you back to the heading and menu, and key 'f' for 'find' takes you to the search box on the current page if you have javascript enabled, or on the home page if you do not have javascript enabled. This page uses access keys 1 to 5 and f.
Different browsers may use the access keys in the following ways:
    • Firefox 2: Alt + Shift + accesskey
    • Alt + accesskey (Firefox / Netscape 6+ / Mozilla / Internet Explorer 4 (PC)).
    • Alt + accesskey, release both then press Enter (Internet Explorer 5+ (PC)).
    • CTRL + accesskey (Internet Explorer 5+ (Mac)).

  7. CSS Styling
The visual presentation of these pages is produced using a simple structuring table for basic layout, with most other visual styles provided using Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).

  8. Plain (non-CSS) version
This website's functionality has been tested without CSS to ensure usability by devices that do not implement it.

  9. Access for Older Browsers
Dual stylesheets have been used to allow access to some visual styling by older browsers. Old browser usability has been tested using Netscape 4.

  10. Mobiles and Handheld Devices
Advanced CSS styles have been removed for small devices. However, as this website contains many large image files as its focus, by its nature it is not ideally suited for mobile access. If we find there is enough demand for particular sections of the website to be made available to mobiles, we will look into providing and alternative mobile version.

  11. Pop-up Windows
The new website areas no longer exclusively use pop-ups to display picture enlargements, although some pages in the shop still do this as they are part of the old website.
Where pop-ups have been used, a non-Javascript alternative page has been provided.

  12. Email Links
Where a link says 'Contact form' or 'Contact the Studios', it will access a contact details page. Where a link says 'E:' or 'Email' it will attempt to set up an email using your email application.

  13. Cross Browser Compatibility
This website has been tested using a variety of operating systems and browsers, but we don't have every possible combination, so please let us know if you find a problem. In the meantime, we have done our best to provide for a variety of access methods by developing each page using Web standards set out by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
